I Have To Confess A Sin. The Sin Of Pride.....

It's a grievous thing to admit to anyone that you've made a mistake. And even worse
when it's the Sin of 'Pride'.
I'm not talking about when you're 'Proud' of the work or 'Job' you may have done. Or a job that you've thrown yourself into 110%. Or the feeling of a "Job Well Done."

I speak of the 'pride' that comes from being able to feel or think that YOU are able to do it alone. By yourself. Every christian or believer in Jesus Christ as the Messiah should know this lesson at the deepest parts of their heart.
It's what caused the fall of satan.
From the mouth of Jesus Himself, in Luke 10:18, "And He said unto them, I beheld satan as lightning fall from Heaven."
Why?Because he had the idiot notion that he was 'An Island unto Himself." ...ala the author, John Donne. Pride is a truly wicked thing.. Especially spiritual pride.
  I am guilty.
I have been found wanting, lacking, and weighing in favor of a character aspect i've never desired.
I have experienced 'Spiritual Pride'. And i am now ashamed. But, the question NOW is: where will i begin again? Can I begin again? Yes.  ................with humility.
No one likes being humbled. It grates against our very being. It scars our souls and minds with thoughts of day's past and humiliations endured. Long days of school, of work, of social interactions and group interactions. And after enough time of being 'humbled' by peers, we get hardened against the world by the backlash of false accusations. And then, after we have had an encounter with Jesus Christ, we transfer, perhaps not intentionally, but to being prideful.
Yes. there is a certain pride that does come from knowing you have been redeemed by Jesus from this world, and it's temptations. But yet, new temptations begin to spring forth & present themselves.... Pride. Arrogance. Impatience. And a feeling that "we are above" everyone else. But you/we are NOT. We have  been delivered by GRACE.
In Ephesians 2:7-9-, it states: 'so that in the ages to come He might show the riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by GRACE you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; Not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."
Although this is the King James version, I think you may get the 'olde english' picture of what has been said.
What we have, has been a gift. Nothing else. You've been given a 'Golden Ticket', As a christian and believer in Christ. you/we didn't EARN it. So when you start to think you have it together as a believer, with whatever 'Wonderful & Amazing Gifts' that you have been given, Please....PLEASE...Don't have to be humbled by Him. It's really not very comfortable. And there will be no escaping it, no matter how hard you pray or worship.
In I Peter 4:17 It Says,
"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"
The time has come for the Body of Christ to come into account for our walk in Jesus. You're either following Him, or your not. Simple as that.
But, the most important point is....it will change your life.
When you finally come to the point in your life, Where nothing else matters, Jesus will be there.                                                        .....<3'n Jesus Always,k.
